Norman Oberto Obituary
OBERTO Norman, 86, husband of Bonnie Anderson Oberto, died Mon, April 28, 2014 at Baptist Health Lexington. Born Feb 15, 1928 in Collinsville, IL, he was the son of late Dominick Joseph and Francis Giacoletto Oberto. Mr. Oberto was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from the U.S. Government where he had served as a Deputy Commander of MRSA based in Lexington. He was a Kentucky Colonel, an avid open wheel racing fan, and enjoyed trout fishing and the outdoors. Survivors other than his wife include three children, Sharon (Roger) Cummins, Michael Oberto, David (Melissa) Oberto; five grandchildren, Julia Cummins, Rebecca (Miles) Noland, Catherine Cummins, Matthew Oberto, and Michelle Oberto; a sister, Celine Kaiser; a brother, Robert (Delores) Oberto; and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Kreitz. Graveside services and burial will be held 11am Sat at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens, 4915 Harrodsburg Rd, Nicholasville, KY 40356 by Rev. Rosario Picardo. Visitation will be held 6-9pm Fri at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Rd., Lexington, KY 40513.
