Obituary Condolences

CLIFTON James D., 83, husband of Hilda J. Clifton, passed away at UK Hospital on Sun, July 20, 2014. He was born August 1, 1930 in Phoenix AZ, and is the son of the late Earl and Gertrude Clifton of Berryville, AR. He is survived by three sons, Andy (Susan) Clifton, Joey (Jennie) Clifton, and Jimmy (Allison) Clifton; and four daughters, Jamie (Chuck) Shell, Jennifer (Tim) Hanks, Jean (Chris) Collins and Jodi Hudnall. He is also survived by his sister, Lorene (Clarence) Lambert; a niece, Marsheila (Allen) Prior; a nephew, Brett (Sharon) Lambert; as well as 16 grandchildren; and one great-grand-daughter. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Lexington, KY. He is a graduate of Southern Missouri University and served two years in the Army. After leaving the military, he enjoyed a successful career with IBM, retiring in 1989. He enjoyed sports, travel, was an avid UK fan and enjoyed spending time with man's best friend, Little Bear. Services will be conducted by long time friend, Ross Robinson, of Franklin Graham Ministries, on Thu, July 24, at 10:30am at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd., with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Andy Clifton, Joey Clifton, Jimmy Clifton, Brett Lambert, Austin Hudnall and Bryson Hudnall. Visitation will be Wed, July 23, from 5-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bob Brown House, 507 Rogers Rd., Lexington, KY 40505.
