Mary Isaacs

ISAACS Mary Lockhart Blair, 95, of Lexington, passed away Sun., Jan. 21, 2018. She was born June 26, 1922 in Sandyville, WV to the late Samuel and Victoria Blair. She was a 1943 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in Medical Technology and a charter member of Kentucky 's Protection and Advocacy for Individuals with Mental Illness Council. In her later years, she took classes at the University of Kentucky as a Donovan Scholar, pursuing a long-deferred interest in oil painting. She is survived by her children, Laura Rankin, MD, Yvonne Williams, Alvin Isaacs and Linda Isaacs, MD; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her four brothers, Holmes, Rolla, E. Herald and F. Lloyd Blair; her ex-husband, Brig. Gen. Alvin C. Isaacs; and her son, William S. Isaacs. She will be laid to rest in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg, WV. Funeral services will be private. Donations may be made to Autism Speaks, Inc., or to Bluegrass Care Navigators.
