RICHMOND - Daniel Todd Rector, 22, passed away Tue, Aug 5 in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was born in Hazard, KY on July 7, 1986. He had a deep love for baseball and was an exceptional player. He played baseball for Madison Middle School and Madison Central High School before his graduation in 2004. He earned a baseball scholarship to play for Lindsay Wilson College and had received various other awards. His favorite major league team was the Los Angeles Angels. Survived by mother, Pamela Sue Rose Rector, Richmond; father, Steven Todd Rector, Goldsboro, NC; paternal grandparents, Bill and Margaret Rector, of Middlesboro; his maternal grandmother, Beatrice Rose, of Hazard; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Daniel Bernard "Pick" Rose. Funeral services will be conducted at noon Sat, Aug 9, 2008, at the Eastside Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Woods officiating. Burial in Richmond Cemetery. Visitation after 5pm Fri at Eastside Baptist Church. His friends and baseball teammates will serve as pallbearers. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Richmond Little League.
