GAY Gayle, 61, wife of Larry Gay of Lexington passed away Jan 21, 2013. She was born in Coconut Grove, FL and graduated from Coral Gables H.S. in Miami, FL and later graduated from Florida State University, where she became the first African American cheerleader. She and her husband resided in various cities before returning to Central Kentucky where her husband was raised. Gayle was an educator and guidance counselor in various school districts for 35 years. She was preceded in death by her son, Anthony, and leaves to mourn her death: husband, Larry; son, Nicklas; daughter, Adrienne (Matt) Carrithers and stepson Dwain (Rosalinda); grandchildren Trinity, Montez and Sloan; as well as a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be 11am-1pm Sat, Jan 26, 2013, with the funeral immediately following at Consolidated Baptist Church, 1625 Russell Cave Rd., Lexington, KY 40505.
