THOMPSON Bobby P., 79, of Lexington died Saturday, February 2, 2012 at Central Baptist Hospital after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his wife Susan Murphy Thompson, his parents Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Jack Thompson, his brother Jack Thompson, and his father-in-law John Murphy. He is survived by his sister Ginny Reams, his daughter Ashley (Guy) Shochat, and his son, John (Lora) Thompson, and wife Norma Thompson. He leaves behind four grandchildren and many other family members including nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was a graduate of Harlan High School, Eastern Kentucky University, and University of Louisville College of Dentistry. He practiced dentistry in Lexington for over forty years prior to his retirement, and was active on various boards and in a number of organizations over the years. He enjoyed sailing, Jaguar motorcars, televised drama, and the affection of many friends. He was quite a character. A memorial service will be held in his honor in early July.
