MALICOTE Bill, age 77, of Lexington, KY, went to eternal rest on August 14, 2013. Born September 30, 1935 in Berea, KY, he was son of the late William Foster Malicote and Maxine (Thompson) Mali-cote. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Janice (Harris) Malicote; along with two children; Jeff Mali-cote and Pam (Gingrich) Malicote of Lexington, Jerry Smith and Julia (Malicote) Smith of Lexington; and four grandchildren, Will Malicote, David Malicote, Reagan Smith and Rileigh Smith, all of Lexington. Bill graduated from Berea High School, and Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor's of Business degree in Accounting and Administration. Bill served his country in the United States Navy, at the fifth Naval District Headquarters in Charleston, SC. He started his business career of 39 years with National Cash Register (NCR) Company in August of 1959 in Lexington, marketing accounting machines and later computers and ATMs to commercial banks throughout Central and Eastern Kentucky. In addition to being an instructor at many NCR sales schools, Bill was also branch and district manager which he did until his retirement in 1998. During this time, he was also President of Convenient One Hour Cleaners, Inc. in east central Indiana and was in several restaurant businesses for over 35 years in Lexington, also carrying out board duties with Shoney's / Lee's Chicken as well as other non-restaurant ventures. Bill was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, The Lexington Club, the EKU Alumni Association, the Lexington Rotary Club, the Lions Club, the Lexington Chamber of Commerce and the Junior Chamber. He was past president of The Greenbrier Residents Association. He was a member of Oleika Shrine Temple and several organizations there; a 32nd degree Mason, The Royal Order of Jesters, The 39 Club, and the Oleika Temple Motor Patrol. His hobbies included attending the Spa Health Club, and later the Lexington Athletic Club, reading, working on the computer, helping his children and grandchildren as well as other small business people realize their potential. Visitation services for Bill will be held Friday 5-8pm at Kerr Brothers, 3421 Harrodsburg Road in Lexington, KY, with memorial services to be held Saturday August 17, 2013 at 10:30am at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 4451 Winchester Road, Lexington, KY. Burial will follow at The Lexington Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be Will Malicote, David Malicote, Reagan Smith, Jimmy Harris, JD Harris, David Withers, and Ken Kikuchi. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry and Frances Bates, Kathleen Evans, Alice Hon-chell, Paige Kikuchi, John and Maxine Martin, Shirley Murrell, Harold and Vicki Robinson, Ken and Elsie Schlich, Al and Gail Smith, Ron and Claudette Switzer, Gary Whitney and the members of the Adult II Sunday School class at Cornerstone Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass or Cornerstone Baptist Church.
