WILMORE - Loyd Harold Cook, 87, of Wilmore, KY was called home by The Lord on January 30, 2014. He had been a faithful journeyman toward the promise of Heaven since accepting Christ in May 1948, and we all rejoice now to know he is at Jesus' side forever! Loyd was born September 11, 1926 in Nortonville, KY to the late George W. and Maude Skipworth Cook. After serving the Army in World War II, he graduated from Nortonville High School in 1946, and was an employee of Kentucky Utilities for 42 years. Loyd cherished 64 years of marriage to his dearly loved wife, Bettie, and adored his family with a soft yet strong love that will be his legacy. Also having shared in the joy of knowing him is his church family at Wilmore Free Methodist, and several close friends both in Jessamine and Muhlenberg/Hopkins Counties. Loyd is survived by his wife, Bettie Sue Cobb Cook of Wilmore; daughters Alice Lynn Nicoletta and husband Michael of Lexington, and Janet Leigh Brumfield and husband Jim of Wilmore; grandchildren Christopher Paul Nicoletta and wife Anna of Lee's Summit, MO, Matthew Scott Nicoletta of Jacksonville, FL, Jonathan Ryan Nicoletta of Lexington, Jacob Dillon Brumfield of Bentonville, AR, and Marc Daniel Nicoletta of Lexington. Rev. Darryl Diddle will officiate funeral services Tues, Feb 4, 1pm at Wilmore Free Methodist Church, and burial will follow in Wilmore Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Mon, Feb 3 from 4-8pm, as well as immediately prior to the funeral. Honoring Loyd as pallbearers will be Michael Nicoletta, Jim Brumfield, Chris Nicoletta, Matt Nicoletta, Jon Nicoletta, Jacob Brumfield, and Marc Nicoletta. Honorary pallbearers are Gene Lloyd and Zula Ann Courtney, Lyman and Connie Cox, Dorothy Thompson, Hilda Goodlett, Lena Wade, Bob Roe, and Raymond West. In lieu of flowers, the family would be blessed by your donation to the Wilmore Free Methodist Church Building Fund.
