Obituary Condolences

DOTSON William, Jr. (Buddy), went home to be with the Lord June 10, 2014. Born November 18, 1924 in Bourbon County, KY. He is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie, children Russell, Billy and Tammy Gilliam. Grandchildren he adored, Cody (Anne), Zeke, & Beau Gilliam, Dylan Stinnett and the apple of his eye Alexia. He is survived by a sister, Iona Hinkle, Paris, KY. Preceded in death by his parents, William and Mattie Dotson, sisters Virginia Judd, Velma McCoy, and a brother Robert Dotson. Buddy had several nieces and nephews he loved dearly. He was a WWII verteran and a Lt. Colonel in the Civil Air patrol where he was an avid pilot. Buddy spent many years as owner of Wholesale Retail Monument company in Lexington and many years doing engraving on multiple headstones and monuments throughout KY. A member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church he loved serving the Lord in whatever capacity needed. Buddy absolutely loved dogs and training them. Services will be at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Main St. Family visitation at 4pm, open visitation from 5-8pm on Thursday. Funeral services at 1pm Friday with burial at 2pm at Lexington Cemetery. Pastor DeWayne Walker to officiate along with Buddy's nephews Billy McCoy and Glen Dotson. The family wishes to express tremendous thanks and appreciation for Hospice of the Bluegrass Home Care and the Hospice Care Center.
