Dorothy Jordan Obituary

JORDAN Dorothy Lou Rule, 90, went home to the Lord she loved so much on Feb 26, 2015. Making this world a better place was her theme and love her driving force. Her spirit never ceased to enrich those she encountered on this earth. She was born in Houston, TX on September 29, 1924. She worked as an RN, served the Navajo Indians with her spouse, Ernest Jordan, raised five children, and, after retirement, volunteered with the Peace Corps in Paraguay and the Solomon Islands. She is survived by her children: Laurel Foster, Linda Ann Waggoner, Cathy McClain, Martin Jordan, Mera Claybrook, and 22 grandchildren. Love, joy and a positive outlook on life are the legacy she left for them. They will deeply miss the beauty she inspired one to see and to create. They hope to continue to emulate the love and good works she so abundantly shared with others. A memorial celebration of her life will be held at 2pm Sat, March 14, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, 200 West High Street. To honor Dottie, help someone in need in memory of her. www.milwardfuneral.com

I met Dottie once, and attended one of her grand-daughter's weddings so I caould be of assistance to take her back to her home in Lexington. Her smile was vibrant and watching her dance, laugh, and hug those around her was beautiful. She produced a wonderful family, and that to me is the greatest legacy given to a person. May she be dancing this day with the Lord.

Very kind and friendly, Mrs. Jordan was a fine Christian lady who cared deeply about her family and the needs of others. Her demeanor and spirit was always one of peace and love. May The Almighty bestow upon her many rewards.
