I think of my good friend Dr. Holloway (Jim) and his beautiful wife Katherine (Kay) everyday. One of my my most fondest memories of Jim was when we went white water rafting down the Upper Gauley river in Hico, West Virginia. One of the rafts in front of us lost someone temporarily. The man was unconscious when they pulled him out of the very dangerous Class six rapids river. When Jim heard the whistle go off he jumped out of our raft ran a good hundred yards to help the man out. Jim gave the man CPR and saved his life! That is the Man James B Holloway who I will always love and cherish the times we worked and had fun together! Love you Jim and Kay!

Dr. Kay, Katherine, Elizabeth, and Blaine,

Anne and I offer our deepest condolences on the passing of my wonderful friend, Dr. Holloway! We will miss him dearly! Jim was a great person and it was a true honor to be his friend over the 24 years. I will always remember Jim taking me Dove Hunting, to the Blessing of the Hounds, and our infamous whitewater rafting trip down the roughest river on the East Coast, the Upper Galley in Hico West Virginia! Wow, what a beautiful memory! In true fashion, during that trip, someone almost drowned. When we heard the whistle, our raft went to the edge of the river. Jim jumped out of the raft and ran through marshes to perform CPR on the individual. Another precious life saved by Dr. Holloway! I want you to know that I loved Jim Holloway and I look forward to the day I see him again!

Love, Gary and Anne Calabrese

Dear Kay, Elizabeth, Kathy and Blaine,
Just heard about Dr. Holloway's passing. I have very fond memories of our canoe trip, the times he sewed me up, hunting, and growing up together. I'm glad I was lucky enough to know and be inspired by him. And you all. Thanks, God bless.

I enjoyed many horse moments with Jim, foxhunting, walking the High Hope Steeplechase while he was designing it, and being a part of the founding of Equestrian Events i.e., Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event. He was a true sportsman and leader. If there is a foxhunting heaven I'm sure he's there. Elizabeth, Kathy, Blaine & Kay I am sorry for your loss.

If it where not the skill of Dr. Hollowly I probably would not be here today. No i was not a patient of his but my father was in 1956, one year before I was born. Dr. Hollowly performed open heart surgery on my dad when it was still experimental. my dad is now 80 years old. Thank you Dr. Prayers for your family
