Anton Tittjung Obituary

With family by his side Anton (Tony) Tittjung, 87, found peace at last May 10, 2012. Born Nov. 17, 1924 in the former Yugoslavia, Tonly spent his early years in the vineyards helping the family business.

He married his beloved wife of 61 years, Katharina, who preceded him in death in 2009. They later immigrated to America. They eventually settled in Milwaukee, Wis., where Tony was employed at the Milwaukee Marble and Granite Company. They retired to Kewaunee, where Tony enjoyed beekeeping, gardening, walking his dog, carpentry, selling honey and produce at the local farm market, attending church, tending to Katie's beautiful African violets and especially loved visists with friends, children and grandchildren. While living in Milwaukee, Tony was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish and later became a member of St. Therese Parish in Pilsen.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his brother, a sister and a grandchild. He is survived by three children, John (Judy), Rosemary (Tim) and Andrew (Beth); 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; also a former daughter-in-law, Gloria. Also acknowledged are the many friends at St. Therese Parish, espcially Frank and Lois. Also Elizabeth and the rest of the caring staff at St. Pauls Elder Services who loved Tony and considered him family.

Visitation was held May 16, at St. Joseph/St. John's Church, Pilsen, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Father Dennis Drury.
