Bordeaux, Billy C.* - Snow Hill  
SNOW HILL | Mr. Billy Clement Bordeaux, 71, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 21, 2016, surrounded by his family and holding his sweet wife, "Suzy's" hand. A native of Wayne County, he was born August 12, 1944, the son of Richard Clement and Gladys Howell Bordeaux. A retired truck driver and mechanic, Billy especially loved his classic and antique cars and also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Davis Grove Baptist Church, which always held special meaning to him, but had more recently attended Coker's Memorial Church. Billy is survived by his wife, Sue Turnage Bordeaux of the home; daughter, Melissa Bordeaux Hart and husband Timmy, of Snow Hill; son, Timmy Bordeaux of Goldsboro; his special grandchildren that he loved dearly, Alexis Hart and Landon Hart; a sister, Patricia Bordeaux Pelt of Goldsboro; and brothers, Charles Bordeaux of Dudley, and Danny Bordeaux and wife Sherry, of Goldsboro. In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Savannah Marie Hart. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with the Reverends William Meares and Steven Gay officiating. Interment will follow at the Snow Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2- 2:45 p.m. on Sunday and other times at the residence. Bunn, Suzanne Davis* - Greenville  
GREENVILLE | Suzanne Davis Bunn, age 82, passed away at Cypress Glen Retirement Community in Greenville, North Carolina on July 19, 2016, after a long Illness. Born on December 8, 1933 in Kinston, North Carolina, to Roland and Blanche Davis, of the Moss Hill Community of Lenoir County. Suzanne graduated from Moss Hill School; Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C. (BA); Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, N.C. (MA) with an in emphasis in Middle Grades. Her teaching career included: Webster High School in Webster, N.C.; Meadow Lane School, in Goldsboro, N.C.; John Small School in Washington, N.C.; and Swain County Schools, Bryson City, N.C., where she taught seventh grade Math and Science in Bryson City Elementary School for 25 years-in the same classroom. Having grown up in a family that was active in farming in Lenoir County, Suzanne was an International 4-H Youth Exchange (IFYE) student to Switzerland (1955), during her senior year at Meredith College. Her trip included stays with four different farm families in rural Switzerland. Her IFYE experience opened many travel and leadership opportunities resulting in a three year term on the Board of the National IFYE Association. After retirement from the Swain County Public School System in 1988, Suzanne volunteered with the County Court System as a Guardian ad Litem for neglected children, and with the County and Regional Library Systems where she served as Chairperson of both the Marianna Black Library, Bryson City and the Fontana Regional Library (Swain, Jackson, and Macon Counties) for better than a decade. Following both their retirements, Suzanne and husband Donald traveled extensively throughout the world from 1988, through 2008, visiting in 48 different countries. Preceding her in death were her sons, William Alexander Bunn (Bill), and Michael Carr Bunn (Mickey), and her parents Roland and Blanche Davis. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Clarence Donald Bunn of Cypress Glen Retirement Community, Greenville, N.C., her brother Roland B Davis, Jr. (Buddy), and wife Judith of Midlothian, VA, and many nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Suzanne's life will be held at Bryson City First Baptist Church in Bryson City, N.C. 28713, on Saturday, July 23, at 1 p.m., The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Swain Memorial Park, Deep Creek Valley, Swain County, N.C. Arrangements will be handled by Crisp Funeral Home. KINSTON | Myra Grant Dawson, 59, of Kinston, peacefully passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016. Myra was born March 10, 1957 in Lenoir County to the late Jesse Franklin Grant, Jr. and Doris Tilghman Grant. Dedicated and passionate about her work, Myra worked thirty plus years with White & Allen. She loved the beach and nothing was better than a weekend at Emerald Isle. Myra possessed a sparkling smile that would brighten any room she entered. Myra was passionate about her shopping and was always looking for the best deal. A service to celebrate and honor Myra's life will be held Sunday, July 17, 2016 at 3 p.m. from Queen Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Allen Bingham officiating. Myra is lovingly survived by her husband of thirty six years, Nelson Dawson; brother, Jesse Franklin Grant, III and wife, Judy; a special lady Myra thought of as a daughter, Leslie Maroules; brothers and sisters-in-law, Freddie and Rhonda Dawson, Debbie and Mike Herring, Sally and Emery Miller, Amelia and Mike Thigpen; along with special family friends, Teresa Smith and Rose Garris.
