KINSTON - Alma Louise Smith Chase, 88, of Kinston died June 24, 2014, at Kitty Askins in Goldsboro. She was a retired cashier and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Mercer Parrot "Pete" Chase; brothers Tommy M. Smith, John R. Smith, and Lewis Norwood Smith; sisters Lillie S. McCain, Clara S. Millis and Leaurah S. Jones. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2014, at Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Jon Campbell officiating followed by a burial at Westview Cemetery. A family visitation will be held Thursday night at Edwards Funeral Home from 7-8 p.m. and other times at her home. Survivors include her daughters, Connie C. Conner and husband Cecil, of Kinston, and Geneva Duty and husband Kenneth, of St. Augustine, Fla. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brian Conner, Tanya Craft and husband John, of La Grange, Kenneth Duty and wife Sheri, of Tampa Fla., Cynthia Johnson and husband Steven, of St. Augustine Fla.; great-grandchildren Tori and Nikki Johnson of St. Augustine, Fla., Corey and Paige Duty of Tampa Fla., Conner and Riley Craft of La Grange; brother Albert A. Smith and wife Doris, of Kinston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
