Ann Jennette McLamb

KINSTON - Ann Jennette McLamb, 92, formerly of Kinston, passed away peacefully at the Hospice of Wake County Home December 31, 2012. She was a resident of Kinston for 68 years before moving to Raleigh in 2011 to be close to her daughter. She was an active member of First Baptist Church for 64 years and a dedicated volunteer for Lenoir Memorial Hospital for 35 years. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Chuck Towery officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3:15 p.m. Saturday at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley, N.C. Her husband, William O. McLamb Jr. preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Edward W. McLamb and wife Carol Ann, of Charlotte; a daughter, Jean M. Wheless and husband Charles, of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister, Julia Johnson of Dallas, Texas; and a brother, Blaney Jennette of Goldsboro; two grandsons, Jeffrey William McLamb of Cambridge, Mass. and Phillip White McLamb of New York, N.Y. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
