Annie Doris Heath Ervin

KINSTON - Annie Doris "Anne" Heath Ervin, 87, of Kinston passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012. Born in Lenoir County on August 19, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Curtis and Mary Toler Heath. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Leland Ervin; sister Mary Ethel Hester; and brother, William Curtis "Shorty" Heath. Mrs. Ervin was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and the Carrie Mae Marston Sunday school class for 40 years. Her husband was Golf Pro at Falling Creek Golf Club and she made many lasting friendships while working with him there. She later was a cashier with Harvey's Food Center. Mrs. Ervin will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and adopted grandmother to Kristin and Kayla King. Survivors include her sons, Leon Curtis "Curt" Ervin and wife Arlette, and David Leland Ervin and wife Sharon, all of Kinston, and Joseph O'Neal "Joe" Ervin and wife Cathy, of Snow Hill; grandchildren Joseph Lee Ervin, Jason Neal Ervin, and Jordon Henderson Ervin, all of Raleigh, Jennifer Kelly Ervin of Charlotte, and Jaclyn Kerri Ervin of Wilmington; special nephew, Jesse Charles "Charlie" Hester and wife Cindy, and their daughter, Lindsey of Kinston; and close friend, Ruby Holland of Kinston. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2012, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Chuck Towery officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 2600 Rouse Road, Kinston, NC 28504.
