KINSTON - Mrs. Betty Holley Grady, 79, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. A native of Virginia, she was born October 16, 1934, the daughter of Charlie E. and Joyce S. Holley. Mrs. Grady was an LPN having retired from Caswell Center in Kinston. Following her formal retirement, she continued working and collectively spent more than 50 years as a nurse. She was a member of Hull Road OFWB Church in the Arba community of Greene County. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 9, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with the Reverend Leon Grubbs and the Reverend Rodney Dorn officiating. Interment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Grady who died January 19, 2010. Her surviving family includes her daughters, Sheila Harrell and husband John, of Kinston, and Betty Bradley of Kinston; a grandson, John Robert Harrell Jr. and wife Kristy, of Kinston; a great-grandchild, Emma Harrell; sisters Dale Holley Belle and Lola Holley Reynolds, both of Henry, Virginia; and a brother, Charlie E. Holley Jr. of Henry, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1-1:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Online condolences may be expressed at taylor-tyson.com.
