Edna Earle Herring Taylor

KINSTON - Edna Earle Herring Taylor, 91, of Kinston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 13, 2013, holding her daughters hand after 10 years of declining health. She was a real trooper dealing with life's adversities while maintaining her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Edna is preceded in death by her husband Jesse J. Taylor of Trenton; grandson Michael Ray Smith of Kinston, step-daughter Thelma Coombs and step-grandson Jerry Coombs of Knightdale. Survivors include her daughter and caregiver Hilda Smith and her companion Ronnie Stanley; granddaughter Kathy S. Worley; great-grandson Perry West all of Kinston, one brother; William E. Herring of the home, chosen daughters Caroline Kennedy and Catherine Taylor, chosen family Ronnie, Barry, Donnette, Eli, Doug, Summer and Triston Stanley and the father of her grandchildren Bobby Smith. Her stepchildren, Marjorie T. Lee of Wendell, Sarah T. Straughn and Randy, Linda T Parker and Ben all of Knightdale, Jesse R. Taylor and Catherine of Hookerton, Brenda T. Eubanks and Edward Earl of Wyse Fork. Step-grandchildren Jesse Taylor Jr. and wife Cindy, James Taylor and wife Nicole, John Taylor and wife Michelle, Eddie Eubanks and wife Angie, Jay Eubanks, Barbara Malpass and husband Randy, James Eubanks, Beverly Reese, Jimmy Lee and wife Teresa, Jackie Lee and wife Mary, Kenneth Lee and wife Eva, Jennie Raper and husband Charles, James Coombs and wife Fay, Jeff Coombs, Jewel, Joan, Pam Burkett, Frederick, Floyd Burkett Jr., Bonnie, Bridgett, Belinda, Beverly and husband Eric. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Reverend Allen Ham officiating. Visitation will follow the service and other times at the home.
