George Earl Pike

PINK HILL - Rev. George Earl Pike, 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, July 20, 2013. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, George Earl is survived by his wife Genora King Pike, children: Cathy Rush and husband Dave; Nina Wiggs and husband Joe; Ken Pike and wife Jill; grandchildren Shannon Croom and wife Sara; Jeremy Croom and wife Megan; Jordan Rush, Brian Wiggs and wife Audrey; Kristi Wiggs, Karen Wiggs Carter and husband Garrett; Nathan Pike, Caleb Pike, and great-grandsons Asher and Logan Wiggs. George is also survived by sisters Ruby Shorkey, Lottie Smith and Lummie Faulkenberry. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Galey Pike and Edith Heath Pike, siblings Rosa Pike, James Pike, Grover Pike, Dora Koonce, Garland Pike, Gordon Pike, Gardner Pike, great-grandson Zachary Wiggs and many nieces and nephews. Rev. Pike was an ordained minister with the PFWB Conference. During his 45 years of ministry, he pastored several churches and upon retiring, continued to represent his Lord and Savior faithfully as an evangelist. He also retired from Lenoir Oxygen Supply Company, where he worked for 40 years. Visitation will be held at Pink Hill Funeral Home, Monday, July 22, beginning at 5:30 p.m., with service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Milton Hill and Rev. Lloyd Harris officiating. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 23, at 11:00 a.m. at the Pike Family Cemetery, Pink Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Turner's Chapel Church, P.O.
