James C. "Tinker" Avery

DRY RIDGE, Ky. – James C. "Tinker" Avery, 81, died March 24 at home. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and from HUD. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Mathis Avery; one son, Steve Avery of Walton, Ky.; five daughters, Tiffany Lehotta of Dry Ridge, Ky., Terri Tysinger and Pat Avery both of Wilmington, N.C., Jamie Collier of Kingsport, Tenn., and Debi Avery of Independence, Mo. He has 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 1 p.m. March 28 at the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge, Ky.
