Mary G. Taylor

SNOW HILL - Mrs. Mary Harper Graves Taylor, affectionately known as "Hop," died Tuesday afternoon, November 27, 2012. A native of Greene County, she was born July 15, 1927, the daughter of William Herbert and Pattie Mae Eason Graves. Following graduation from the Maury High School, she began what would cultivate into a 42 year career with the former Bank of Farmville, retiring as Vice-President of then First Union Bank. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Harrell's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church where she had been active in the choir and other church activities until her health began to decline and limit her involvement. Graveside services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday, November 30, at the Snow Hill Cemetery with the Reverend Ronnie Mohn officiating. Mrs. Taylor is survived by her husband, Robert Lee Taylor; son Robert Lee "Bobby" Taylor Jr. and wife Carol, of Snow Hill; daughter Debra Taylor Hernandez and husband Tim, of Clayton; grandchildren Samantha Taylor, Robby Taylor, Taylor Hernandez and Jillian Hernandez; and sisters, Mildred G. Howell of Kinston, Lucille G. Bullard of Raleigh and Janice G. Lamm of Wilson. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1-4 p.m. at the home of Bobby and Carol Taylor, 504 Greenridge Road, Snow Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to 3HC Hospice, 2405 N.
