Paul Thomas Mills Jr.

JACKSONVILLE, FLA - Paul Thomas Mills, Jr., 21 passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014, in Florida. He was in the U.S. Navy where he served as an Air Traffic Controller as well as an Honor Guard. Paul was a 2011 Graduate of South Lenoir High School where he was on the wrestling team, played on the football team and was all conference with the baseball team. He was an umpire with the Lenoir County Parks and Recreation and with Top Gun Sports Baseball. He was an avid golfer and hunter. Paul never met a stranger and with his big heart he was a friend to everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother, Ethel Futrell; his grandmother, Rebecca Hadley; grandfather, James Richard Conley Sr.; and his paternal grandparents, J.C. and Mary Mills. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, from Tanglewood Church of God with Pastors Anthony Braswell, Allen Stocks and Wesley Jarman officiating. Interment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. on Friday evening at Garner Funeral Home and other times at his mother's, 2825 Sandhill Road, Kinston or his father's, 7404 Hwy. 70 West, LaGrange. Survivors include his mother, Lisa Foyles and his step-father, Ronnie Foyles of Kinston; his father, Paul T. "Tommy" Mills Sr. of LaGrange; his sister, Faith Foyles of Kinston; and his brother, Tyler Foyles of Kinston; his brothers in his heart, Thomas Sanger of Washington, D.C. and Monte Williams of Kinston; his special cousin, James Thigpen of Leesburg, Ga.; special aunts and uncles, Clifton and Betty Thigpen of Leesburg, Ga., Jarvis and Debra Mills of Fayetteville, Ricky Mills of Kinston, Jeremy and Ashleigh Smith of Kinston, T.J and Greta Waldun of Augusta, Ga., and Jim and Shirley Conley of Texas.
