Peggy (King) Grant

PENSACOLA, FLA - Surrounded by her family and close friends, Peggy King Grant, 72, passed away at home on May 17, 2014. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and Florida State University fan. She loved her work with elementary school children where she spent many years as a teacher's assistant. In addition, Peggy loved to travel and was active in the Holiday Rambler Motorhome Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, Linton and Julia King of Longwood, Fla. Peggy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jesse R Grant; daughter Kimberly Grant of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; son Jeffrey Grant and wife Kathleen; two granddaughters, Nicole and Gabrielle Grant of Cork, Ireland; brother Ellis King and wife Betty Lou, of Longwood, Fla.; and numerous close friends. The funeral service was held Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at 11:45 a.m. followed by burial at Barrancas National Cemetery. The family would like to thank the team at Sacred Heart Cancer Center, Dr. Boatright, Dr. Decesare and the Covenant Hospice for providing compassionate care.
