Susan Howell Barwick

KINSTON - Susan Howell Barwick, 82, of Classic Care of Kinston passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. She worked with the Lenoir County Public Schools for many years and at her retirement was cafeteria manager at Kinston High School. She was a member of Bethel FWB Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Sudie Thomas Howell; her husband, Major Barwick; her son Freddie Barwick; and her sisters, Grace Carter, Joyce Baxley, Irene Hill, Margaret Prillwitz and Polly Shepard. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013, from the chapel of Garner Funeral Home with the Reverend Chris Truett officiating. The family will be at the home of BJ and Jessica Murphy, 1703 Sunset Avenue. Survivors include her grandchildren, Michael Barwick (Mercedes) of Kinston, Jordan Barwick of Pigeon Forge, Tenn., Jessica Barwick Murphy (B.J.) of Kinston and their mother, Jan Barwick Parson of Kinston; her sisters, Norma Lee Smith and Lillian Rose, both of Goldsboro; her brother, George A.
