Tanner Lee White

GRIFTON - Tanner Lee White, 21, of Grifton passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2013. He was born in Lenoir County on November 24, 1991, to Ronda Jones Burkette and Douglas Ennitt White Jr. Tanner was a member of the Hugo Volunteer Fire Department and was a former member of the Contentnea Ruritan Club; in addition, he was an avid Tarheel fan. He was also a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Survivors include his parents, Douglas E. White Jr. and wife Tina, of Farmville and Ronda Burkette and husband Jeff, of Grifton; his sisters, Abbott Lyn White of Grifton and Sara Ann White of Farmville; maternal grandparents Ron and Sandra A. Jones also of Grifton, and Shawn and Carol Burkette of Florida; paternal grandparents, Judy Jones of Grifton and Doug and Pat White of Hugo and John and Judy Davis of Florida. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Immanuel Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with the Reverend Jon Campbell and Doug White Jr. officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Sam Jones Cemetery in Grifton.
