William "Felix" Croom

KINSTON - William "Felix" Croom Jr., 69, of Lenoir County went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, June 25, 2013, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. He was born and raised in Kinston and preceded in death by his parents, Felix Sr. and Lora Barwick Croom. Felix retired after 38 years of service from E. I. DuPont and farmed most of his life. He was a devoted husband and father and a very proud grandfather. A lifetime outdoorsman, Felix took great pleasure in hunting and fishing with family and friends. He was a charter member of Faith Fellowship Church where he served as Property Deacon, and was a member of Richard Caswell Masonic Lodge for over 25 years. He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of more than 50 years, Nicole C. Croom; son Felix III and wife Jane, of Fort Barnwell; daughter Diane C. Andersen and husband Charles, of La Grange; grandsons Austin Felix Croom and William Lawrence Andersen; and his canine companions, Longie and Princess. The family is especially grateful for the care and concern shown by Dr. Gallaher, Dr. Escabi, and the nursing staff of 3 West and Respiratory. A home going service will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Faith Fellowship Church, 2278 Paul's Path Road, Kinston.
