KINSTON - Leroy Taylor, 79, of 3030 Ravenwood Drive, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Vidant Home Health and Hospice in Greenville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Ethel Taylor; his first wife, Carol Heath Taylor; his daughter, Cynthia Taylor Gray; his great grandson, Noah Grayson Stroud; and his siblings, Elbert Taylor, Donald Taylor and Lena Chambers. He was past owner of HTH Enterprises and Converters-Exhaust Unlimited. He was an avid bowler for many years and a true Carolina Tarheels fan. He served in the National Guard, was a member of the Lenoir County Shriners, Moose Lodge, Kinston Elks Lodge and past president of the Kinston Exchange Club. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 2014 at Garner Funeral Home with Reverend Josh Whitfield and Reverend Bert Potter officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at his home. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Pinelawn Memorial Park with Masonic Rites. He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Blanche Potter Taylor of the home; his children, Debra Bautista of Kinston and friend, Rex Watkins of Micro, Leroy Taylor, Jr. and wife, Tammy of Deep Run, Ricky Taylor and wife, Joyce of Kinston, Dennis Kesler of Kinston, Wanda Baker and husband, Travis of Sandy Bottom, and Danny Kesler and wife, Angie of LaGrange; his grandchildren, Nicanor Bautista, Stephen Taylor, Donnie Gray, Jr., Krystal Gray, Sarah Watkins, Shannon Taylor, Ricky Taylor, Jr., Dusty Taylor, Rusty Taylor, Jennifer Baker, Matthew Baker, Harmony Kesler, Callie Kesler, all of Kinston and twelve great grandchildren; his siblings, Dennis Taylor and wife, Cornelia of Kinston, Bruce Taylor and wife, Cammie of LaGrange and Janice Grant of Grifton; brother-in-law, Jim Chambers, sister-in-law, Thelma Taylor Efird and son-in-law, Donnie Gray, Sr. all of Kinston. The family would like to acknowledge Danny and Angie Kesler and Jim and Carol Potter for all their help during Leroy's illness.
