GOLDSBORO - Ronald Edwood Hill, 81, of Goldsboro passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. Mr. Hill was the son of the late Herman and Sadie Hill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Barbara Hill and brothers, Haywood Hill and Morris Hill. Mr. Hill was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Kinston and was a contract driver for the U.S. Postal Service. He proudly served his Country with the U.S. Army, serving during both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife, Anastasia Dmitriyevna Hill of the home; daughter Patricia H. Marshburn and husband Eddie, of Deep Run; sons David E. Hill and wife Irene, and Michael Hill and wife Melissa, all of Deep Run, Allen Hill of Shreveport, La., and Ronnie Hill and wife Nannette, of Virginia; step-son Paul Sviridov of Russia; 11 grandchildren; one step-grandson; and 18 great-grandchildren; sisters Joyce Brown of Virginia and Ruth Ann Bland and husband Marshall, of Kinston; and brother, James Aubrey Hill of New Bern. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2014, at Howard-Carter Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Jimmy Horne officiating.
