KINSTON - Alice Lee Smith Wesbrooks, 94, entered into eternal peace on Friday, March 22, 2013, at the Quinn Hospice House in Kenansville. Alice was born on February 28, 1919, a daughter of the late Mattie and James Smith. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Cleve Wesbrooks; grandson Jason Thomas Gay; and siblings, Elizabeth Anglim, William Smith, James Smith, Reid Smith and Roland Smith. She graduated from Lenoir Memorial School of Nursing in 1942 and became a Registered Nurse. She married Cleve Wesbrooks and was a member of Westminster United Methodist Church in Kinston. Alice loved her children, grandchildren and all of her nieces and nephews. She always had a kind word to say to everyone – she had a very kind and gentle soul. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her son, Thomas Wesbrooks; daughter Mary Grainger and husband Chuck; granddaughter Kristen Gay; nieces and nephews, and special caregivers, Elaine and Agnes. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Westview Cemetery, Kinston, N.C. with the Reverend T. R. Miller officiating.
