AYDEN - Athelene Joyner Allen, 86, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2012 surrounded by her children. She is survived by three sons, Robert Andrew Joyner (Joan) of Ayden, Willie Junior Allen (Mavis) of Greenville and Jeffrey George Allen of Ayden; two daughters, Louveena Allen Franklin (Joe) of Kinston and Julia Allen Rogers of the home; one brother, J.T. Joyner of Vanceboro; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Little Creek UAFWB Church. Internment in Red Hill Cemetery.
