KINSTON | Burnice "Bernie" Wayne Bullock, 48, loving husband, father and grandfather of Kinston passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017. He was a proud assistant football coach for Bethel Christian Academy. Bernie was also a Sunday school teacher and choir member. He loved to play chess and was chess champion in Greenville for five years. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Burnice Bullock and Mattie Stalls Bullock. Bernie is survived by wife, Linda Stanley Bullock of the home; daughter, Christina Bullock of Kinston; sons, William Bullock and Austin Bullock both of Kinston; grandchildren, Summer, Logan, Brandon, Alexis, Mercedes, Aiden, Sophie, Ethan, and Declan; sisters, Mavis Bullock of Virginia, Faye Bullock of Raleigh; and brother, Curtis Bullock of Raleigh. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Liberty Baptist Church in Snow Hill. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Rusty Conyers officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Westview Cemetery.
