GRIFTON - Carrie Elizabeth Huggins "Lib" Harrison, 69 of passed away Friday evening, May 2, 2014 at Vidant Hospice in Greenville after a courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buck G. Harrison, her brothers, Richard Huggins, Tom Huggins, Bill Huggins, her sisters, Peggy Tripp, Hazel Phillips, Rachel Wright and Faye Huggins. Mama was a devoted wife of 37 years, until the loss of our Dad, Buck G. Harrison in July of 1997. She retired from the West Company in 1986. She continued her career as a licensed cosmetologist, owning her own shop "Lib's Beauty Shop" from 1972 until her health no longer allowed her to work. Mama was a member of Temple Free Will Baptist Church in Greenville. She had a generous heart. Her kindness was never ending. Mama was always there to help others, whether it be with clothes, food or even a home to those in need. She is survived by her three children, Bucky Harrison (Inger) of Grifton, Monica Batts (Jimmy) of Pfafftown and Annie Laura Harrison (Jayne) of Grifton; grandchildren, Mat Batts of Wilmington, Daniel Batts of Surf City, Christen Harrison, Lyndsay Harrison and Cole Harrison of Grifton; sister, Ella Hoffman; brother, Randall Huggins, both of Kinston and special nieces, Ann Sessoms and Jennie Stallings both of Kinston, Edna Love of Mississippi, Pat Padrick of Georgia and her dear friend, Joyce Houston of Dunn. At mama's request, the family will have private services which will be held at a later date.
