KINSTON - Clarence ""Champ"" Rufus, 61, of 419 E. Bright St. Apt.-B, died Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville. The funeral will be held at noon on Saturday, April 12, at Hickory Grove Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ Church with Elder Shelton R. Keyes officiating. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Church Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Dena ""Pearl"" Rufus of the home; daughters Shaquinta Rufus, Nakeisha Best and Angela Taylor; sons Maurice Rufus, Jerry Williams, Anthony Best and Marquise Bell; and sisters, Juliet Burge and Annie Davis, all of Kinston; brother Louis Rufus of Richmond, Va.; and 14 grandchildren. Viewing will be from 3-7 p.m. Friday, April 11, with the family present from 3-7 p.m. at Albritton-Carraway Funeral Home.
