KINSTON - Cleophus Gooding, 80, of 3321 Pleasant Hill Road, died Friday, June 28, 2012, at Craven Medical Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday from Hickory Grove Church of Christ with Malcolm S. Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Pinelawn Park. Gooding is survived by one son, Cleophus Gooding Jr. of Kinston; three daughters, Alice Rhodes and Janet Gooding of Kinston and Joyce Jones of Pollocksville; two brothers, Robert Gooding of Kinston and Leslie Gooding of New York; three sisters, Irene Farmer of Goldsboro, Joyce Rhodes of Comfort and Mary Rogers of New York; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday from the Robert Swinson Jr. Memorial Chapel. Swinson Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
