RALEIGH -Eleanor Mae Martin Howard, 92, of Raleigh passed away on December 7, 2012 of a massive stroke. Her family was by her side when she drifted off to be with her Lord. She was preceded in death by parents Jesse W. Martin and Winnie Martin, husband Paul M. Howard, two sisters and one brother. Eleanor was a graduate of Louisburg College. She was a long time resident of Kinston where she worked with her husband at Howard-Carter Funeral Home. Her entire life, Eleanor devoted herself to her family and friends. She was a great cook, homemaker and bridge player and was a long time member of Kinston First Baptist Church. Eleanor had a warm welcoming spirit. Her home was always open to anyone. She was a loving, compassionate and a gentle person. People who knew her will remember her as the sweetest lady they had ever met. Eleanor is survived by her daughter Eleanor Faye Howard; her granddaughters Kimberly Fakhoury and Rhonda Greene (husband Michael Greene); her great grandchildren Kyle Fakhoury, Kelsey Fakhoury, Bridgette Greene and Tyler Greene. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Monday, December 10, 2012 at Howard Carter Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Don Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Wake County 250 Hospice Circle Raleigh, NC 27606. (Paid obituary)
