KINSTON - Ellis Hill, 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 3, 2013. He was the son of the late Roy and Katie Smith Hill of Pink Hill. Ellis proudly served in the U.S. Army for 20 years during which time he served in the Korean Conflict and two tours in Vietnam. He was a faithful and active member of Faith Fellowship Church in Kinston where he was baptized and came to know Christ. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Elwood Hill, Emmett Hill, Warren "Bobby" Hill, Lois Richardson and Bette Karnes. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the home of Lawrence and Anne Hill, 2203 Hardee Road, Kinston. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at Pinelawn Memorial Park with Dr. Randy Spaugh officiating. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carolynn Staton Hill; two children, Lawrence Ellis Hill (Anne) and Ellisha Hill Mayers (Shawn), all of Kinston; three grandchildren, Abby Hill, Heath Hill, William "BJ" Lane; a great grandchild, Jamie Flores; and two sisters, Barbara Jenkins of Pink Hill and Jennie Smith of Erwin.
