WILMINGTON - Elwood Hill, of Wilmington, N.C. passed away on March 30, 2013. He was born in Deep Run, N.C. on December 2, 1931, to Katie and Roy Hill. He served his country honorably in the Korean War and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a truck driver with over 45 years of service. He was predeceased by his parents and his wife, Pearl Hill; a son, Mitch Hill; a granddaughter, Angela Hill; brothers, Emmett Hill and Warren Hill; and sisters, Bette Karnes and Lois Richardson. He is survived by a son, Tom Hill and daughter, Sue Neese; a granddaughter, Amanda Smith (Geremie); and two great-granddaughters, Summer and Kailie. He is also survived by a brother, Ellis Hill; sisters Barbara Jenkins and Jennie Smith; beloved in-laws, Hilda Hill, Ruby Edwards, and Paul Richardson; also several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. A visitation will be Wednesday, April 3, 2013, from 1-2 p.m. at Coble Ward-Smith, Oleander Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
