PINK HILL - Emory Wayne Metts, 29, of 1126 Watering Pond Road, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013. He was a farmer, an employee of Sanderson Farms and a true lover of farm life. Emory was a loving person that loved everyone he met and was a joy to be around. He will truly be missed. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, from the chapel of Garner Funeral Home with the Reverend Roger Noble officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at his sister's home, 1114 Watering Pond Road, Pink Hill. Interment services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Westview Cemetery. Survivors include his father, Walter Dennis Metts and wife Teenie, of Pink Hill; his mother, Shirley Maready Casey and husband David, of Beulaville; his paternal grandfather, Joel Wayne Metts of Trenton; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William J. Moffett of Macon; sisters Marilyn Denise Metts Powell and husband Mark, of Pink Hill and Heather Metts Pitts and husband Benjamin, of Dover; step-sister, Stacy Hardy of New Bern and step-brother, Nicholas Casey of Richlands; and two nephews, Matthew Wayne Powell and Mason Anthony Powell.
