SNOW HILL - Mrs. Evelyn Sugg Sutton, 94, died Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston. A native of Greene County, she was born March 18, 1919, the daughter of Jim and Deborah Bright Sugg. She was the widow of the late, Paul Garner "P.G." Sutton Jr., who preceded her in death in 2006, and during tobacco season joined him at Grower's Warehouse in Kinston, in which they owned and operated. Mrs. Sutton was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a consummate homemaker who took great pride in her family and home. She was a member of Rainbow United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. on Monday, January 6, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with the Rev. Tony Calhoon officiating. Interment will follow at the Snow Hill Cemetery. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Sutton was preceded in death by her sisters, Adele Sugg Mitchell and Catherine Sugg Edwards. Surviving are her daughter, Evelyn Garner Sutton Beaman and husband, Donald of Snow Hill; grandchildren, Donald Shay Beaman and wife, Tracey of Snow Hill, and Debra Beaman Fell and husband, James of Hookerton; great-grandchildren, Lynsey Caroline Beaman, Jonah Paul Beaman, McKinsey Beaman Walter, Nicklaus John Fell and Sophia James Fell; and her special caregivers, Frances Jones, Rosa Johnson and Ann Hill. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1–1:45 p.m. prior to the service and other times at the Beaman residence, 1918 Hwy. 58 South, Snow Hill.
