KINSTON - Francis Leroy Campbell, 75, of Kinston passed away Thursday, July 12, 2012. Born in Madison County, Ga. on April 26, 1937, he was the son of the late Francis and Gladys Gouch Campbell. Mr. Campbell was a mechanic with Tidewater Scale and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He proudly served his Country with the U.S. Navy, retiring after 19 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Ada Sue Campbell; children Rhonda S. Campbell, Theresa L. Huston, Russell L. Campbell Sr., and Susan R. Pugh; six grandsons; four granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren; sisters Kathryn Hudson, Kathleen Bennett, Bobbie Jean McCarthy, and Frances Elizabeth Brown. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m., Sunday, July 15, 2012, at Neuse Baptist Church with Pastor Dean Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 16, 2012, at Westview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 1392 Castoria Road, Walstonburg, NC 27888. Howard-Carter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
