KINSTON - Geraldine Chase "Gerri" Barwick, 81, of Harmony Hall passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. She was a bookkeeper with Baker Brothers Furniture Store, and a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. She loved to cook and to read. She was a loving person that loved her children and grandchildren and will truly be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gurney R. and Elizabeth Anderson Chase; her husband, Clyde Barwick; her sister, Elizabeth Pittman and her brother, Lawrence Chase. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2013, from the chapel of Garner Funeral Home with the Reverend Ivey White officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park. Survivors include her sons, L. Keith Barwick and wife Joy, of Deep Run, Gerald L. Barwick and wife Judy, of Castle Hayne and Bobby Barwick and wife Nancy, of Raleigh; three brothers, Edwin Chase of La Grange, Billy Chase of Snow Hill and Gurney Chase of Kinston; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
