SNOW HILL - Harold R. Day, 89, peacefully passed away Thursday, September 25, 2013, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston, North Carolina. Born in Geary Oklahoma on July 14, 1924, he was the son of Henrietta Walbaum Day and John Martin Day. A World War II veteran, Harold retired from the Boeing Company in Wichita Kansas after 40 years of service. He and his wife lived in Andover, Kansas until moving to Greene County, North Carolina in 2012 to be near their daughter and her family. A loving husband, father and papa, Harold is survived by his wife of 66 years, Wilma Jean Day; daughter, Randy Sue Davis and son-in-law, Richard L. Davis Jr. Harold is also survived by two granddaughters, Danielle DeCook, her husband Michael, son Brant and daughter Adalyn; and Miranda Mersman, her husband Chris, and sons Cole and Colin. A private service with the immediate family will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013.
