HOOKERTON - Mrs. Hazel Goodwin Albritton, 79, died Friday, July 13, 2012. Born in Wilson County on January 8, 1933, she was the daughter of George and Annie Swindell Goodwin. For many years she operated the Hookerton Soda Shop with her late husband, Richard L. Albritton. She was a member of the Hookerton United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 16, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with the Reverend Tim Chase officiating. Interment will follow at the Snow Hill Cemetery. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Albritton was preceded in death by a son, Richard Jeffrey Albritton. Her surviving family includes her daughter, Mary Ann Albritton Radford of Hookerton; grandchildren, Richard Linwood Radford and wife Stephanie, Jeffrey Franklin Radford and Jeffrey Linn Albritton, all of Hookerton; great-grandchildren, Reagan Elizabeth Radford and Richard Stephen Radford; a sister, Gladys Marie Rose of Hookerton; a brother, George Goodwin of Fremont; her special companions and pets, Roxie and Queenie; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews of the Albritton and Goodwin families. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence, 1019 Hwy 123 South, Hookerton.
