KINSTON - James Herman Sanderson, 77, of Kinston, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2012 at Vidant Medical Center. James graduated from Campbell College and attended East Carolina College. He retired from First Citizens Bank with 44 years of service and was a member of Woodington United Methodist Church where he was a past Sunday School Superintendent and teacher. James loved spending time with his family, friends, and church family as well as baseball, golfing, hunting, and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Lee Sanderson; son, Guy Sanderson and wife Karen of Emerald Isle; daughter, Stephanie Smith and husband Wade of Wilmington; grandchildren, Lindsay and Jonathon Smith of Wilmington; sister–in-law, Gwynn Rouse and husband Alton of Seven Springs; niece, Lee Anne Rouse of Wilmington; nephew, Steve Rouse and wife Crystal of Seven Springs; and special friends, Larry and Edith Elmore and family of Deep Run. Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Claude Wilson officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 5 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2012 at Pinelawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woodington United Methodist Church in care of Gwynn Rouse, 4079 Liddell Road, Seven Springs NC 28578.
