SNOW HILL - James Scott Eason, 41, of Snow Hill, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2014. Scott graduated from South Lenoir High School where he was voted most original. He was a member of La Grange First Free Will Baptist Church and has worked with the N.C. Department Of Corrections for over fifteen years. Scott never met a stranger and easily made friends. He loved good conversation and singing. Scott especially enjoyed hunting and skeet shooting with Tyler and most of all cherished time spent with his family. A service of remembrance will be held Friday, January 31, 2014, at 6 p.m. from La Grange First Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Ronnie Hobgood and Pastor Josh Hobgood officiating. Interment will be Saturday, February 1, 2014, at 11 a.m. from Westview Cemetery. Scott is survived by his wife of five years, Laura Turner Eason; three children, Travis Eason, Tyler Holmes and Julie Holmes; his parents, Ed and Nadine Eason of Kinston; brother Daniel Eason and wife Lamanda, and their children, Caleb, Kaitlyn and Emmalyn of New Bern; and paternal grandmother, Doris Hoffman of Kinston. Scott was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Leamon and Bernice Stroud.
