MERRITT - Jayne Daughety Hill went to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 1, 2012. Jayne and her late husband, Gene C. Hill, were longtime residents of Greene County and active in the Hookerton Community. Following her husband's death, Jayne retired to Paradise Shores on the Pamlico Sound where she lived until her death. In addition to her husband, Jayne was preceded in death by a son, Danny; and her parents L.J. and Rhea Daughety of Kinston. Jayne is survived by her son, Steven Hill of Merritt; grandchildren Heather H. Hobbs and husband Chris, of Hookerton and Scotty Hill of Greenville; a precious great-grandson, Carter Hobbs; a special friend, Dori Nehilla of Merritt; sisters Donna Halstead of Texas and Carole Williams of Ohio; and brothers, Bill Daughety of Texas and Levi Daughety of South Carolina. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with the Reverend David McCants officiating. Interment will follow at the Snow Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at 10 a.m. prior to the service and other times at 703 S. William Hooker Drive, Hookerton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Two Rivers Church of Christ, 1822-6 Glenburnie Road, PMB 380, New Bern, NC 28562. Online condolences may be made at taylor-tyson.com.
