GOLDSBORO - Jean Hart Harper, 63, passed away peacefully Friday, March 21, 2014, with her family by her side. She was a member of the gospel group Renewed Harts and enjoyed ministering God's Word in song. She asked to be remembered as someone who loved her family more than words could ever express and as someone whose heart was in singing. She is survived by her husband, John Harold Harper; her son, Brandon Harper and wife Jessica, and grandson Kevin Harper; her daughter, Candace Harper and grandson Gavin Smith; her mother, Bettie Arthur Mooring Hart; brothers Ricky Hart (Randy), Steve Hart, and Michael Hart (Chrystal); her sisters, Kay Quinn (Doug), Peggy Chase (Dennis), Sherry Arnette, Terry Wilson (John), and Christy Hollingsworth (Carl) and sister-in-law, Sharon Hart. She was preceded in death by her father, J. B. Hart Jr. and her brother, Kenneth Hart. A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday evening, March 26, at 7 p.m. at Free Gospel PFWB Church located at 145 Free Gospel Road, Snow Hill in the Shine Community with the Rev. Tom Dorman officiating. The family will receive friends following the service and at other times at 2310 Gurganus Road, Snow Hill.
