DEEP RUN - John Edward Griffin, 55, of 4516 Mark N. Smith Road, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at his home. John was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Edward Griffin. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Pink Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Leonard Drew officiating. Burial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2012, at the Stroud Family Cemetery. Survivors include his mother, Robbie Gibson Gray of Pink Hill; two brothers, Darrell Lynn Griffin and Ronald Dale Griffin and wife Susan, all of Pink Hill; two step-brothers, Jeff Gray and Jerry Gray, both of Kinston; step-sister Debbie Webb and husband Robert, of Rocky Mount; two nieces, Robin Lynn Griffin of Cape Carteret and Jennifer Joe Griffin of Pink Hill.
