HOOKERTON - Mr. John William Creech, 81, died Monday, June 18, 2012, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston. A native of Greene County, he was born November 23, 1930, the son of John J. and Guyola Creech. Following graduation from the Hookerton High School, he found his livelihood in the soils of family land where he farmed until his retirement and lived until his death. Mr. Creech was a lifelong member of the Hookerton Christian Church. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with the Reverend Charlie Greene officiating. Committal services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 21, at the Snow Hill Cemetery. In addition to his parents, Mr. Creech was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Reddin S. Beaman Jr. His surviving family includes his wife, Peggy McLawhorn Creech of the home; daughter Diane Creech Beaman of Hookerton; sons Bryan Creech and wife Karen, of Hookerton and Alan Creech and wife Flavia, of Hookerton; grandchildren Stuart Beaman of Hookerton, Candi Beaman and husband Jeffrey Anderson, of Hookerton, Daniel Cole Creech and wife Tracey, of Pink Hill, and Jesse Creech of Hookerton; and great-grandchildren, John Cole Creech of Pink Hill, Mason Daniel McElveen of Hookerton and Vici Beaman of Greenville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday immediately following the service and other times at the Creech home, 120 Oakes Road, Hookerton.
