KINSTON - Julia Ann Herring Batchelor, 84, of Kinston, passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. She was a homemaker. Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Waldo Batchelor; daughter, Beverly Britt Jones; brothers, Luke Herring and Thomas Herring; and sisters, Nelda "Sinker" Johnson and Leona Rogers. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2012 at Pinelawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday night from 7-9 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home abd other times at 2931 Ravenwood Drive, Kinston. Survivors are her sons, Carl Britt and Jimmy Britt of Kinston, and Donald "Bo" Britt and wife, Joy of Seven Springs; special grandchildren, Tony Taylor and wife Kim of Hugo, and Brittany Jones Brayboy of Kinston; and son-in-law, Mark Jones; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her bingo family at Mickey's Beach Bingo.
